Company Background
Accountancy Business Systems Ltd (ABS) was created over 10 years ago by Graham Speers utilising the considerable accountancy & software experience accrued up to that point . The prime function of the company at that stage was to give database & PC support to clients using existing accounts packages such as Sage etc. The business has developed over the years to give general IT & network support to over 500 home users & small businesses as well as now supplying major IT support to over 20 GP practices in North Oxfordshire.
There are three directors of the business. Graham Speers is the senior director with a background in the NHS, management accountancy and software programming. Neil Grantham has an IT support background with many years knowledge of this particular field whilst Paul Hinckley offers numerous years of commercial experience to the business. The directors are supported by Rachael Twiss, an experienced accounts administrator as well as by a subcontract workforce of suitably experienced technicians. The company operates out of large rented premises at Aynho near Banbury which gives ample office, workshop & storage space as well as easy access to the M40 allowing easy reach of most areas in Oxfordshire.
We have been involved with GP practices for almost 10 years and have gained extensive knowledge over that period of time of the needs of surgeries in respect of IT support . Since the advent of the new Doctor’s contract, our role within the NHS has widened and we have an agreement with a local PCTs for the supply of IT support as well as supplying a number of our purpose built PCs as replacements for faulty or outdated equipment.. We also carry out rewiring and general network related services.
The company is also heavily involved with the support of small to medium businesses as well as a number of private individuals working from home for NGOs and charities. The vast majority of our business is from the recommendations of existing customers who value the prompt and practical support that the experienced staff of ABS is able to offer. In line with the original objectives of the business, ABS retains a financial management consultancy service.
